To benefit the American School of Marrakesh
A once-in-a-lifetime experience, our unprecedented program opens the doors to many of Morocco’s rarest and most exquisite private residences and gardens, never accessible to the public.
For eight magical days, in the company of Madison Cox, AD100 Landscape Architect, Vice Chairman of the American School of Marrakesh Board of Trustees, our hosts and our expert lecturers, we will explore some of Morocco’s most important sites and private residences, under privileged conditions.
In Marrakesh and Taroudant, we will be welcomed into the luxurious, intimate worlds of European aristocrats, international private collectors and aesthetes, including the private residences of the late Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé—Villa Oasis, Donna Marella Agnelli—Ain Kassimou, actress Marisa Berenson—Villa Happy, and decorator Christophe Decarpentrie’s four admirable residences. We will also enjoy an exclusive after hours visit to the stunning mYSLm, Museum Yves Saint Laurent Marrakesh, and its exhibit featuring Christo’s artwork never revealed to the public.
The Kingdom of Morocco’s rich and ancient culture bears the traces of conquerors, traders, nomads and colonists—from the Phoenicians and Romans to the Spanish and French. Gateway to Africa, Morocco’s exotic melting pot of far-flung peoples and cultures, and its legendary tolerance of all religions, throughout the centuries, has culminated in a country of exceptional richness, depth and diversity.
Marrakesh is considered the most important of Morocco’s four imperial cities, built by the Berber empires, with admirable ancient urban design, architectural jewels, sumptuous palaces, gardens, a bustling fortified medina, one of the country’s most beautiful madrasa, former Koranic schools, and mosques that bear Andalusian influence.
Taroudant is among the hidden treasures of Morocco, protected by an impressively preserved ancient wall fortification, with the snowcapped peaks of the High Atlas beckoning beyond, where elite international connoisseurs have established havens — exquisite residences with luxurious, boundless gardens.
